Instructors

Matt Wilson

Matt, originally from Park City, Utah began his professional whitewater career at the ripe age of 17 in 1995 for Holiday River Expeditions on the classic alpine rivers of central Idaho. After spending three seasons as a kayak/raft guide on the Rio Futaluefu in the Patagonia region of Chile, Matt returned to college, graduating with a B.A. in Modern Languages. Since then Matt has pursued a career of  swiftwater instructor, raft company owner and ski patroller. Aside form teaching swiftwater rescue,  Matt’s passion is expedition paddling which has lead him around the world in search of first descents from Russia to Madagascar. 

  Ryan Casey

Ryan grew up in the Wood River Valley of Idaho near Sun Valley, and then moved to Colorado to attend Rocky Mountain High School. He attended University of Vermont on a Nordic Skiing scholarship, where he received a degree in Food Science with a focus in Sports Nutrition. Ryan has been an avid kayaker most of his life chasing rivers around the globe. His kayaking adventures have led him to places like, Russia, Canada, Norway, Peru, Ecuador, Mexico, France, and not to mention many rivers across the US. Ryan spent 10 years raft guiding on the Salmon River near Stanley, Idaho. With over 20 years of playing and working on the river, he has un-paralleled whitewater experience! Ryan spends his winters ski patrolling at Sun Valley Ski Resort in Idaho, with this other job comes high levels of Outdoor Emergency Care. It’s easy to pick out who Ryan is because he probably the only person around that is nearly 7 feet tall

 

Stan Prichard

Stan is originally from Tennessee and grew up boating the rivers of the southeast.  He began his paddling carrier at summer camp and then further developed his skills with the Baylor Schools Walkabout Program. As a student instructor he began guiding climbing, rafting, and kayaking at an early age. After high school he attended Fort Lewis College where he earned an English Degree. While in college he completed a NOLS semester in Patagonia, a season instructing for Outward Bound, and became an ACA kayak instructor. Stan is a ski patrol/guide at Silverton, Mountain in the winter. When not at work he enjoys reading, writing, and adventure travel.
